It’s time for common sense and fiscal responsibility. Our families have to live within their means. Government should, too. I believe that’s what being fiscally responsible is all about. Instead of raising taxes every time there is a problem, we have to be smarter about spending what we have – so that we can actually cut taxes for the middle class, small businesses, and family farmers.
Stephen Burgmeier:
Stephen Burgmeier claims he will be a "check and balance" in Des Moines. However, his own record as a Jefferson County Supervisor tells a much different story. Since taking office, Burgmeier has voted for tax increases five times. On top of the tax increases, Burgmeier has voted to raise his own pay 4 seperate times in 6 years. As Burgmeier's own ad states; "That's money taxpayers are on the hook for."
